Community Description

WAITT Village - is an inclusive community for people living with a disability or mental health challenges and their caregivers

Community Information

WAITT (We're All In This Together) Village is a community for people living with all types of disabilities and mental illness.  Feeling alone, unseen and misunderstood are common experiences that lead to depression and anxiety. It's hard enough living with these conditions, then there is the mental and emotional impact of having these conditions. All of which can be a struggle to make sense of, to work through and ultimately find a degree of peace with.

I'm Brian R. King, MSW, founder of WAITT Village. I live with Asperger's, ADHD, Dyslexia, Multiple Sclerosis and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (Hypermobility Type). I'm also the father of three sons with ADHD and Asperger's.

After earning a Master’s degree in Social Work, writing 5 books and giving presentations around the country, the opportunity to create this community presented itself.

One in which I could use my popular and effective way of bringing people together to change the lives of the people I serve on a global scale.

At the moment the Village has my NeurodiverStrategies Group in it and will soon host my membership group as well.

It has space for groups focused on any type of disability or mental illness both paid and free.

On the platform I'm using there are no ads, data isn't collected and you can post anonymously. This will allow you to be more vulnerable and get the support you need while maintaining your privacy.

i35rgTJ6qEyECT6EVLHb6OZyn8ARR9D3nvaVSU5S.pngThe point is to create a space where everyone feels seen, connected, included, supported, empowered, informed and loved.

One community, many neighborhoods with individual voices.

I'd love to have you as a neighbor.

If you'd like to start a group in WAITT Village, please send me a friend request and a message with your request.

In the meantime. Welcome to the neighborhood, make yourself at home.

Thanks for being you,

Brian R. King, MSW

Normal is NOT a goal but Effective is...
"I want to live as normal a life as possible." What does that even mean? When you live with a disability or mental health challenges, what is normal and how would you know it if you found it? I recommend another measure of success that's more practical and empowering than normal. Have a watch.

Why I kinda stopped doing ADHD Coaching
Professionals working with the disabilities community have a tendency to focus on skill building. There's 1 thing every successful client who works with me learns to do FIRST. It's rarely the thing they think they need. If you make this same shift in working with your child or in your own growth, the transformation can be profound. Watch as I explain the shift to make, then share your thoughts in the discussion below. "This video is so beautiful Brian. Thank you for all that you do in this world and for helping our family!" - Lori Ellen "Love this Brian - it 100% resonates with what we've gone through with our daughter." - Derek Kaye

Understanding the causes of pain
Pain is NOT all in your body according to Psychologist Rachel Zoffness. It's also caused by your emotional response and social circumstances. I was glued to this discussion and will be buying this book. This is crucial knowledge to have if you're trying to manage chronic pain.
